The Joker is such an inherently unstable character, there’s nothing to prevent him, in universe, reinventing himself from time to time, as the whims of madness move him. So I don’t think the Joker will *always* have to look this way (if it is his movie look) across the DC “cinematic universe.” Besides, it’s certainly a different look, and I say why not give it a shot?
