A Taste of the Web

I wanted to share with you all some great Science Fiction and Fantasy related material that I have taken advantage of, and for the most part, they’re free. So, without further ado:

Audio Drama:

Spiritblade.net – Spiritblade is a fantastic source for audio Christian sci-fi/fantasy. The creator, Paeter Frandsen, has developed high quality, full cast audio dramas under the title Spirit Blade as well as a fantasy take on Pilgrim’s Progress. While the main audio dramas are for purchase, the website also includes free downloads of other audio dramas written by various creators and directed and cast by Paeter Frandsen (including my good friend Nathan Norman’s Untold: Alliances).

On Spiritblade’s website, you can also find a weekly podcast in which Paeter reviews sci-fi related movies and games. The podcast also has some great interviews with Christian sci-fi/fantasy authors and a Bible study.

Leviathanchronicles.com – Leviathan Chronicles is another awesome audio drama experience, mixing alien speculation, politics, and immortality. This fully cast creation by Christof Laputka is a fast paced, action thriller, sure to leave you wanting more. You can download the entire 25 episode first season for free (each episode ranging from 30 minutes to an hour). My one warning is that there is a significant amount of bad language, but if you can get past that, it is a really fun adventure.

Web Series:

RCVR – “’RCVR’ set in 1973, follows a black-ops unit engaged in covering up extraterrestrial encounters and locating individuals (RCVRs) who possess startling information communicated to them by alien beings. The first season, based on alleged true events, takes place in rural Arkansas,” (buzzfeed.com). This is an intriguing drama, with solid acting. The production is superb for a web series. I have only seen the first two episodes, but I already recommend it. You can catch the entire first season (only 46 minutes in total) below:

Check them all out. Let me know what you think!
