Halloween’s less than a week away, and The Sci-Fi Christian is ready! From tomorrow until All Hallows’ Eve itself, our writers will be handing out some of their favorite tricks and treats—recommendations of what to watch, read, listen to, and even do to make this year’s celebration suitably spooky, correctly creepy, and fittingly fun.
What can you expect in your goody bag? Well, we don’t want to give away all our secrets—what would Halloween be, after all, without a few surprises?—but we’ll give you some clues…
- Tomorrow, Max starts us off with a memorable episode from a dear, departed TV classic, as well as a song that (appropriately enough) will never die…
- On Thursday, who goes there? None other than Joshua, lovingly crafting his recommendations of horror landmarks…
- On Friday, Brady may just give us the shock of our lives—is he a man possessed?
- On Saturday, Dave brings us a dream of Belmont stakes (knowhatimean?)
- On Sunday, Mike mourns an anniversary of death and destruction too often forgotten, and also asks if you’ve looked under your bed lately…
- And on Monday, Daniel, who knows no Halloween is complete without a trip to a haunted house, takes us to one of the most famous of all—three times!

Ace, it is funny you should think of that song. Saxton Moore has written and illustrated a cute little kids’ book called “13 Rooms of Halloween,” about a boy who wanders through a haunted house and sees such things as “four headless horsemen, three black cats, two skeletons, and a zombie as big as a tree.” It sings fairly well, and the illustrations are funny (no gore or scary stuff). My 4-year-old daughter and I have been enjoying it.
