Ah, you beat me to it! 🙂

Looks great, doesn’t it? I’m especially intrigued by the exchange, “You’ve given these people everything” – “Not everything, not yet.” I assume Bruce/Batman is talking about his very life. That would be an intriguing twist on the Batman mythos. And very Christ-like: Jesus loved us “to the utmost, to the end”… (John 13)… “No one has greater love than this… “…. “The good shepherd gives his life for the sheep.”

Maybe this film should be titled, “The Dark Shepherd Rises”? 😉

  2. Michael, I love that idea. I have been wondering if Christopher Nolan would end up killing off his Batman. What’s funny is, I couldn’t even hear the audio of the trailer (still having serious hearing issues), but I just thought it LOOKED awesome. =)

The opening minute or so is so quiet that it creeps me out!

I agree with Mike…there seems to be a sacrifice theme going on here!

  4. I was blown away by the trailer last night. My expectations just shot up–it promises to be very epic. This trailer, the last one, and the movie poster make me wonder if they will actually kill Batman in this finale, which could be interesting.

Nolan is an outstanding storyteller (if you analyze the film plots you can find different themes the intertwine and are symbolized by individual characters) but one thing I really miss in his trilogy is the Gothic feel of the TIm Burton films and the superb 90s Animated Series.

I can’t wait to see what happens with that airplane scene. And the very last part of the trailer with the batwing thing is awesome. Its similar to the batmobile in that its on steroids!
