The Wolverine Trailer

March 27, 2013

I think we can all freely admit that 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine was not good; not good at all. Why 20th Century Fox decided to make a sequel is beyond me (and almost everyone, I think). Suffice it to say, they did.

We’ve been hearing reports since the early stages of this production that The Wolverine, the brief and simple title of the sequel, would be much better than its predecessor. Most were excited about the prospect of award winning director, Darron Aronofsky being attached to the project; but that quickly fell through. Then Fox brought in James Mangold (3:10 to Yuma, Walk the Line) to take Aronofsky’s place. This, I presume, we could deal with; though again, it was still hard to imagine it being a good movie.

Well, the first trailer has just hit the internet, and I must say: it doesn’t look too bad. In fact, it I think it looks pretty darn good (it even seems to have an actual plot). Check it out:

Will you give Wolverine another chance?

  1. Why make a sequel? He’s still the most recognisable and popular Marvel superhero . . . not taken up by Disney.

And don’t say Wolverine Origins was not good “at all” . . . the opening credits sequence was great, and should have been the movie! I like that this movie seems to be pulling from that “eternal warrior” idea.

    • I don’t remember anything about the first movie, other than Deadpool was not Deadpool and Gambit was lame. I was not looking forward to this sequel until I saw the trailer. While you are right that he is the most recognizable and popular character, he is completely overrated. But money is money, right?

      • Money is indeed money.

The opening credits showed Wolvie and Sabertooth, fighting wars from the Civil War to the Vietnam War (I believe).

The scenes were well shot, exciting, and emotional; and they set up . . . next to nothing. I spent the rest of the movie disappointed that the beginning credits were so awesome and the rest of the movie so . . . so . . . so . . . not.

To be fair…it could have probably used more swords, ninja swords!

I mean sure fake Deadpool had a sword…but we just needed more swords!

    Okay…let’s be serious….it’s Wolverine.

Okay, yeah, they botched a really awesome superhero to actor combo in Deadpool! Man I still want that so bad.

But its Jackman playing Wolverine…..playing Wolverine…it’s Wolverine on the big screen. Yes I know some may be against this, insert sound clip here…but it’s Wolverine, he has claws, he fights, I don’t have plans to think.

Why do I have to think, I mean really it’s Wolverine.

Man it’s going to be so awesome (guy who went to Origins opening weekend)!

Seriously was that the Silver Samuri’s suit laying around.
