Dang it! I love Lemony Snicket so much. But the series is most definitely not scifi or fantasy, otherwise I would have voted for him. I suppose an argument could be made for him being non-fantasy fantasy like Wes Anderson. For me his are must read children’s books, though for older children.
You name a ship Icarus and you’re just asking for it it to crash.

Every Kevin J. Anderson novel I’ve ever read reads the same. I gave him a fair shot — read 3 of his “Seven Suns” original novels; two of the co-written “Dune” prequels; and KJA’s first Superman novel — but I just don’t understand his appeal.
