Glad to hear you are going to read Man in the High Castle, Matt! I look forward to hearing what you think of it.
I was thinking “modern day Divine Comedy” as soon as Ben described the Kanye West videogame, also. I’m sure it’ll go down in history as a worthy companion to Dante’s classic. Ben, are you going to lead a devotional play along?
Speaking of The Divine Comedy, when is the next video for the read along going up?
On a more serious note, I’m still dealing with the news that Leonard Nimoy is new longer with us. Spock was my favorite sf character growing up and I think he had a huge impact around the globe. I think he is remarkable for a mass media character in that he is primarily known for his strong moral center over everything else, but he wasn’t a prig or a dullard. I know this ep was taped too late to acknowledge Mr Nimoy’s death, but I hope to hear a shout-out next time.
On a sillier note, I’d love to hear a clip Nimoy’s “Ballad of Bilbo Baggins” at the beginning of the next “What the Frodo” news. I’m not claiming it’s a great song, but it shows off Nimoy’s playful side and even my Tolkien-fan wife thanks “it’s precious,” and she “doesn’t mean that ironically.”
