I am amused (not in a bad way) by how, after 20 minutes of complaining about the film, you segue into, “Now let’s talk about things we didn’t like…”
I think maybe the key to enjoying this film is not being heavily emotionally invested in the Marvel universe (either in print or on screen). Yes, it’s got some logic problems, but I was smiling the whole time and just really enjoyed myself. So, as far as I am concerned, mission accomplished.
By the same token, maybe casual or non-DC/Superman fans are going to enjoy “BvS:DoJ” more than I will…
As ever, though, you guys have enjoyable conversations. Thanks for letting the rest of us listen in!
I posted the above before I finished listening. I will *vehemently* disagree with Ben about the Avengers placing a priority on saving innocent lives. They held themselves to a high standard and they *kept* it. Especially when compared with “Man of Steel,” I do not understand how you can object to superheroes actually behaving like super heroes. On this score, Ben is wrong!
There are some rail systems in Europe that only go back and forth on the same rail. So they have several stops one way. Then go in reverse the other way.
