  1. I really enjoyed Matt’s unabashed enthusiasm for BTTF. I can hear the smile on your face – nice!

Ben, were you in a bad mood when you guys recorded this? Dismissing the great Christopher Lloyd with “Of ‘Angels in the Outfield’ fame?” Sheesh! And such pedantic word parsing – at the end of Part 1, Marty, from Doc’s p.o.v., goes back to the future from whence he came. The title is Doc’s perspective; heck, Doc says the line. Twice!! Every party needs a pooper….!

The sports almanac plot of Part II is somewhat reminiscent of David Gerrold’s time travel novel, “The Man Who Folded Himself” (1973). It’s a well-written book, but pretty bleak and disturbing at points (also like BTTF 2, I guess!). Anyway, it’s not one of my favorites, but worth checking out if you want to see how the “sure bets thanks to knowledge of the future” story has been handled by others.

Matt, I don’t think Doc’s last line in Part 3 messes up anything. Isn’t the whole reason Doc came back from 2015 at the end of Part 1 because he believed the future isn’t written in stone? “We’ve gotta do something about your kids!” Why would he say that if he thought the future was immutable? (Now, granted, our future is someone else’s past… but I guess the time traveler’s present trumps all else.)

  2. If the Cubs can’t even win on Back to the Future Day, when can they win? πŸ™
Is it too late to nominate “Ben thinking Colin Hanks was Steven Spielberg’s son” for funniest moment of the year? πŸ™‚

I’d say it’s an early front-runner for next year’s voting!
