An Introduction to John Carter

February 15, 2012

Are you all excited about the March 9th release of John Carter?

To be honest, I ‘ve been keeping track of this future Disney release due to its connections to Finding Nemo‘s Andrew Stanton.  But I have not heard a lot of folks talking about it, even after the Super Bowl.

Disney has released “An Introduction to John Carter” to inform potential moviegoers about the importance of this century old story.

Does this introduction make you more or less willing to see this film? Personally, I think the best way to prepare is to read the orginal which you can get for free as an A Princess of Mars E-Book.

I tried to read the original book but didn’t get very far… I should really try again before the film comes out.

  2. The books are a quick, fun read. Watching the trailers brings up the question of how closely the movie will follow the book (probably about as closely as the Dawn Treader film follows C.S. Lewis’ work).

Reading the books should have no impact on the film; they used Burroughs’ work as source material only.
