I have to say, Thor was probably my least favorite Marvel movie (well, aside from Iron Man 2), but it looks like Marvel is really stepping up their game after the success of The Avengers. “Phase 2”, as they’re calling it, seems to be shaping up quite nicely. The first couple of trailers for Iron Man 3 looked amazing, taking Tony Stark in a new direction and now, the newly released first trailer for Thor: The Dark World is making this new era for “Earth’s Mightiest Heroes” seem all the more prevalent. Oh no! Natalie Portman in peril! It actually looks pretty good, if somewhat formulaic.
I don’t know if Phase 2 will be better than Phase 1, but Thor 2 better be better than Thor 1. I liked Thor, but there was plenty of room for improvement.
